Porter Water Bottle Holder - 20 oz

As expected, this a solid piece of kit. It functions well, is lightweight, and easy to use. I would buy another if I had the need.

This holder works well for a narrow-neck, double-wall, insulated, 20 oz. Hydro Flask style bottle. I appreciate the adjustable shock cord that keeps the bottle from falling out of the holder. I wanted to use this holder on my pack's shoulder strap for easy, on-the-move hydration. For this purpose, I modified the system for attaching the holder to the pack. I used two #3 Nite Ize carabiners to attach the holder to the pack's shoulder strap daisy chains (see photos below). This holds it securely to the pack, does not interfere with pack comfort, and makes accessing water very easy. For reference, I use a Porter 4400 pack.

This holder holds an insulated, narrow-neck, 20 oz. water bottle quite well. I use this on the shoulder strap of my Porter 4400. I held back 0.1 stars because, like the larger version of the same, I found this holder’s attachment strap not ideal for my use. My solution is to use two #3 Nite Ize carabiners, as shown in the pictures below. Modified in this manner, the holder easily and securely attaches to daisy chain on the Porter 4400’s shoulder strap. For reference, my Porter is a size medium. Attaching the holder this way allows for super-easy on-the-fly hydration access. I’ve found I can attach it this way to my old Lowe Alpine Outback 70, as well.

I use it to hold a 33.8oz Smartwater bottle, I did not try other brands

This was the worst my first hour into my 11 day hike. It kept flip flopping regardless of my cinching it securely.
