A must have
When I bought a hyper light Southwest 55L I noticed some buckles on the back that would accept pack accessory straps. I thought this could be advantageous so I went ahead and ordered a set. Adding these straps to an already great product makes it even better.

they work as side-compression-strap extenders too!
I needed to strap a rolled-up unicellular foam pad to the outside of my porter 4400 and the side compression straps weren't long enough. I ordered these pack accessory straps, and the side-release buckles with the accessory straps mate with those on the compression straps. It was a simple matter of doing a little re-threading of the pack accessory straps and--voila!!--instant compression strap extenders. Score one for the good guys! (I was a little disappointed w/HMG on-line chat for not being able to answer my 'do you sell compression strap extenders?' question with 'not really, but these pack accessory straps will work perfectly.")
